Banque baccarat, or Baccarat à Deux Tableaux (on two tables), is a classic casino game offered by online casinos. This version of baccarat is played on an oval table, which can seat up to 14 players.
If you want to find out more, then read our guide to the basic rules, strategies, and payouts below. We’ve listed everything you need to know and the best online baccarat casinos.
Like many baccarat games, your aim in Banque is to beat the banker’s hand. In Banque, you aren’t up against other players, which makes things easier.
The banker is assigned and stands across from the dealer at the table; players will sit on the sides of the table. During virtual games, you will always be the player but not on live dealer tables.
Basic Rules
Banque is always played with three decks of cards from a shoe that shuffles the cards. Each card is dealt face down until the wagers are placed (tie, player, or banker bets).
To play, players place their bets on the table, and the player who bets the most becomes the banker. The banker stays the banker until they run out of funds, or the shoe has no more cards.
Then, the position can be auctioned off to the remaining players at the table. Also, the banker can be challenged by another player who can displace them.
In Banque baccarat, two-player hands are dealt out (one on each side), with one banker hand. The deck must be shuffled by each side before one player from each side cuts the deck.
Lastly, the banker has to put up money to cover all of the player bets for the hand. Players can place their bets on the sections in front of them, starting from the left side of the dealer.
How to Play Banque Baccarat
Learning how to play Banque baccarat is pretty simple after you’ve learned the rules and roles. With those in mind, you can follow these steps:
Take a seat at the table (virtual or live) and place your starting bets. If you don’t want to be a banker, make the minimum table wager.
Get your side’s first card and see what you’ve got before the dealer asks for bets on the table. You will always bet on the player hand, either on your side or both. The banker has to bet on their hand at all times.
Then, you’ll receive the second card for the right side, left side, and banker.
When the bets are all accounted for, all cards are turned face up for comparison.
With your cards face up, you will see who has an eight or nine, and the player with that hand wins.
If no one gets eight or nine, the game will move to the next round and decide the next move.
The dealer shuffles the cards at the start of each round, and the two players on the sides will, too.

Banque Baccarat Strategy
Many baccarat players will tell you to try progression betting systems to make more money. But because of the rules of baccarat en Banque, you will lose more money than you think.
After all, there’s one betting option for each role, and you can’t capitalize as much on side bets. Instead, we recommend sticking to the table minimum and expecting a player win over a banker win.
Playing Baccarat en Banque
Now that you’ve got the basics down, it’s time to start playing and get comfortable. If you’re unsure of the game, you can play for free and move to real money banque later. And if you’re a high roller, dive headfirst into the fun and make as much money as you can.
Almost every casino has a version of baccarat banque (bank), which you can enjoy at any time of day. Just look for the two-sided table, and you’ll be set to play.
